Interior Design Fees explained…
Redecorating your home with the help of an Interior
Designer can transform your house for the better and
works out a surprisingly worthwhile investment too!
We offer a free initial consultation at our premises to
help give you an idea of how we work and what to
expect. We discuss timescale, budget, and try to get an
idea of the style you are looking for.. Looking at fabrics
and wallpaper designs with paint tones. To take
advantage of this meeting we would suggest to bring
Plans and / or images of the rooms as well as any
images of Interiors that have caught your eye. We do
deal with casual callers, but it is better to make an
appointment to make sure that we are available - as a
guide this would normally last about 20 - 25 mins.
From this we then decide if a house visit is needed, as
often customers have a good idea of what they are
looking for and it is just finding it, maybe a home visit
is not required. After a scheme has started to come
together in the store you may need to use the
measuring service.. This can cost from £20 - £60
depending on distance from the store. We can quote
from your measurements given but it is
recommended to use the measuring service as
unseen issues are better found out before anything is
ordered.
If we decide that visiting your home is the best way for
us to help then the fee is discussed depending on how
many rooms and what is needed for each area. As a
guide this is charged at an hourly rate for £120 (£100
plus vat) which is payable when booking the
appointment. Mileage for home visits within 10 miles
of Newtownards is included. Mileage will be charged
at 50p per mile (each way) thereafter.
On the site visit we tour the house together picking
out which pieces of furniture that will kept, getting an
idea of the style of the room/s. This is important as we
can get an idea of the feel of the house and can give
better advice of how to furnish and determine the
best colours, patterns and shapes for your home, and
also access how things work in regard to the space
and / or dimensions available. At this point notes are
made, and photos are taken to help the recall the
space. Measurements are also taken only for
estimates only at this point.
The Schemes…. The next step is an appointment in
the shop. This is normally booked in from 7 - 10 days
after the Site visit. You will be greeted with a display of
fabrics, wallpaper, paint boards, pole fittings and blind
samples. Images of furniture and lighting styles will be
shown and the practically of window dressing will be
discussed…
An Estimate of the scheme will also be given, or may
follow after a few amendments after this meeting. The
schemes are flexible and we work with you until we
are all happy that we have ended with the best
possible outcome for you. If you are happy with what
you see, depending on the project, we may have all
products available in the shop, but there are times
where we will not have and we will need to go to
certain contacts to find other products - light fittings,
furniture, tiling, flooring options for you..This is also
priced at £100 plus vat per hour.
We have a good range of local connections which
keeps the time cost to a minimum. Often working with
other local manufacturers and businesses enables us
to sometimes offer discounted materials or products
on your behalf and also saving you the time and
hassle of shopping around for the best deal.
You have the option of a Mood Board which can be
made at an extra cost of £85 or the samples being
sent directly to you free of charge from the different
companies. We can also arrange for them all to be
posted to the shop if you prefer and they can be
discussed again if needed.
If you decide to go ahead with the Scheme … we thank
you in advance.
Next we would book you in with our Measuring
Service and as an idea of a cost this can be anything
from £20 to £60 depending on the location and the
size or type of job.
A finalized quote of products will be posted which
includes the project management and also Labour
Costs of Painters / Tilers /Carpet Layers / Curtain and
Blind fitters.
Then we will project manage the design from start to
finish - Ordering all products, checking delivery’s,
keeping you updated giving details to labourers,
arranging installation and finally visiting the site to
make sure we are both happy with the end result!
We often take photographs for our own records and
with your permission use the images in our social
media. We can arrange for one of the local Interior
images specialists or local magazines to visit - which
can be a lovely keepsake for yourself or as a helpful
tool if you are thinking of selling your property at a
later date.
Every project is different, some smaller or larger than
others, so the time to manage a project can vary. We
are proud to be able to keep the fees to a minimum.
